Mac and Francois taking it easy after the hike up to the top of Castlepoint's summit. This was after we climbed down to the rocks and for the second time, I was roared at by a sea lion that was hidden from view (they sun themselves behind rocks and are hard to see sometimes). The sea lion roar is evokes such visceral fear in me that I run blindly in the opposite direction screaming and forget about anyone else. I'm pretty sure I mowed down Francois in my escape.
I cannot take credit for these pictures--they are my friend Summer Lennox's work. I realize that you may think they've been photo-shopped; I didn't ask when I stole them from her but YES, Castlepoint is this beautiful. The peak in the back right corner of the picture is where we climbed to. So much fun packed into one little place: surfer-gazing, sea lion-fleeing, lighthouse-viewing, and beachcombing!
